Rotary Club recruiting host families for newest exchange student

rotaryexchangeA long-time participant in an international youth exchange program, the Rotary Club of Fonthill is in the midst of preparing for its newest candidate.

Leon von Ruden is a 15-year-old exchange student from Germany who is a competitive soccer player and a music lover. He plays both the drums and the trombone.

While the Rotary club will officially sponsor Leon’s year-long exchange in the Pelham area, we are seeking host families who would like to have him stay with them for a three-month period.

Leon arrives in late August and will attend E.L. Crossley for the 2016-17 academic year. The exchange program is an excellent opportunity for local families to learn about another culture, and past family hosts will tell you it often results in life-long connections.

Host families come in all shapes and sizes and may include young children, older children, or none at all.

If you are interested and would like to learn more, please contact our Youth Exchange Officer, John Julien, at 289-241-6594, or send him an email at john.julien@icloud.com.
