Second suspect arrested in Brock incident

NRP LogoThe Niagara Regional Police Service announced the arrest of a second suspect in an incident that took place at Brock University on March 21/2019.

Three students were injured when confronted by the two suspects armed with a knife and a pellet gun.

“As a result of the continued investigation into this incident by detectives from the 1 District (St. Catharines) Criminal Investigations Branch, on June 9/2019, a second arrest was made,” a press release from the Niagara Regional Police Service said.

On June 9/2019, Omar Azimi (19-years-old) of Whitby was arrested and charged with: assault with a weapon and two counts of aggravated assault.

He was held pending a bail hearing Monday.

In April the first suspect was arrested Abdul Zaman of Brampton was arrested and charged with: Robbery, Assault with a weapon. Aggravated assault, Fraudulently obtaining food.

In the press release, the NRP says “there are no outstanding suspects at this time.”
