Look to the skies in Fort Erie Wednesday Sept. 19/2018 and see an aerial presentation from the Canadian Forces Snowbirds Air Demonstration Squadron.

“During the show, the pilots will fly at speeds from 100 to 320 knots, performing different formations and manoeuvres, all while flying as close as four feet from one another,” a press release from the Town of Fort Erie said.

“The show will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will take place over Lake Erie at the Niagara River,” the release says. “A viewing location will be set up for community members at Lakeshore Road between Dominion Road and Beatrice Street. For safety reason, this section of Lakeshore Road will also be closed to vehicles starting at 12 p.m. until approximately one hour after the end of the show.”

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds Air Demonstration Squadron showcases the aerial precision and skills of these serving pilots of the Canadian Forces. From May to October they perform approximately 60 shows in over 40 locations across North America.

“We are extremely thrilled that the Snowbirds have chosen Fort Erie as one of the stops in their 2018 North American tour,” Fort Erie Mayor Wayne Redekop said in the press release. “We’ve had our share of aerial shows in the past, but, never the Snowbirds.”

“This is very exciting, not only for Fort Erie, but, also for all of Niagara,” he said.
