Suspect arrested in March weapons incident at Brock

The Niagara Regional Police Service has made one arrest in relation to a weapons incident that took place on March 21/2019 at Brock University.

“The investigation determined that two male suspects had confronted three Brocks students with weapons on the campus.  The three Brock students were all assaulted,” the original Niagara Regional Police Service press release about the incident said. “The three male Brock students in their 20s were located near a residence with injuries.  Two of the males sustained non-life threatening stab injuries.  The third victim sustained a non-life threatening injury as a result of a struggle with the unknown suspects.  He was not shot by the pellet gun. ”

The victims were taken to hospital, treated and released.

In the continuing investigation, the Niagara Regional Police Service arrested 20-year-old Abdul Zaman of Brampton. They announced his arrest in a media release on Tuesday, Apr. 16/2019.

Zaman is charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Aggravated assault
  • Fraudulently obtaining food

He is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing Wednesday Apr. 17/2019.
