Suspected bank robber arrested

Niagara Regional Police arrested and charged a man suspected of robbing Desjardins caisse populaire in Port Colborne.
Police said the lone male entered the bank, at 57 Clarence St., at 1:52 p.m. Wednesday, brandishing a knife and demanding cash from a teller. The man was wearing a black mask with dark clothing and carrying a black bag.
The teller compiled with the male’s demands and he fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police were able to identify the suspect and later arrest him.
Charged with robbery and disguise with intent was Steven Harris, 37. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing Thursday in St. Catharines
