Teen charged with robbery

Niagara Regional Police Service arrested and charged an 18 year old male with several offences, including robbery after an incident Friday in Niagara Falls.
Police said the accused, who was not named, solicited services from a victim before meeting at an agreed location, where a demand for cash was made, followed by threats with a weapon.
“Fortunately, the victim was able to contact police and an arrest was made,” said police in a release.
Detectives are looking for other victims that may have been targeted, specifically, sex-trade workers.

Pedestrian struck

A 75 year old St. Catharines man was taken to St. Catharines hospital Saturday after being struck by a car Saturday, said Niagara Regional Police.
Police, Niagara EMS paramedics and St. Catharines Fire and Emergency Services responded to Bessey St. at Hazel Lane for the report of a man struck at 4:35 p.m. A police press release said the initial investigation revealed that a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon was being operated northbound on Bessey from Pinecrest Ave. by an 18 year old St. Catharines man. 
Police said as the Hyundai approached the intersection of Hazel Lane the 75 year old man crossed into the path of the car. 
“The 18-year-old driver attempted to avoid the pedestrian but the right side of the Hyundai came into collision with pedestrian, knocking him to the roadway where he struck his head,” the police release said.
The driver and his 52 year old passenger stopped immediately and rendered assistance to the pedestrian, who was transported by paramedics to St. Catharines hospital in serious condition
The driver and his passenger were not injured. 
Names are not being released police.

Drug bust in Fort Erie

A 34 year old Fort Erie man was arrested Friday after Niagara Regional Police completed an investigation into alleged drug trafficking in the neighbourhood of Ridge Rd. North and Cutler St. in Ridgeway
Police said they recovered a quantity of prescription medication, prescription patches, crack cocaine, cocaine and Ketmamine.
Charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance times, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, and failing to comply with a probation order was Steven Schaubel.
