City of St. Catharines press release – To avoid disappointment, purchase advance tickets for the City’s popular Guided Spirit Walks happening the first two weekends in September at the Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre presents Glimpses of St. Catharines – Stories of the Famous and Infamous for its 2019 theme. Walks take place Fridays and Saturdays on Sept. 6, 7, 13 and 14 with two time slots of 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. available. Three of the eight walks are already sold out with others getting close. Tickets ($12 per person) and availability can be found on stcatharines.ca/ePlay.

“Our Guided Spirit Walks have become a popular fall tradition,” said Kathleen Powell, supervisor, historical services and acting supervisor, cultural services. “We invite everyone to join us at St. Catharines’ largest cemetery and delve into St. Catharines’ stories of fame and fortune, scandal and misadventure. It’s a journey through the city’s past like no other.”

Guided Spirit Walks features a cast of talented volunteer actors who explore the community’s past through impactful stories. Discover an in-depth behind-the-scenes of the walks, actors and stories that didn’t make the cut on stcatharinesmuseumblog.ca.

The 45-minute guided walks run rain or shine, except under inclement weather. Walkers should dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Free parking is available.
