Town of Fort Erie seeking input for Strategic Plan 2019-2022

Town of Fort Erie press release –Fort Erie Town Council is continually working to improve our programs and services that serve our citizens and the community.  We are in the process of developing our new Strategic Plan and are asking residents, businesses and community partners to complete a survey to tell us ‘how we are doing’ and ‘what is most important to you.’

Mayor Wayne Redekop noted the importance of being open to all feedback and shared the following encouraging words, “Town Council is incredibly pleased with the on-going level of community interest and involvement in our numerous Town-Appointed Boards and Committees. These surveys are an additional way we can involve residents and community partners by asking for their feedback and ideas regarding improving our programs, services and our community.”

Three surveys have been launched for the following groups to capture diverse perspectives across the community:

  1. Residents – for all residents of Fort Erie
  2. Community Partners – for community agencies, groups, service clubs, associations and government partners, and;
  3. Businesses – for all local businesses and business associations.

The objectives of the brief survey (5-10 minutes) and to generate:

  • Ideas regarding community priorities and emerging themes;
  • Feedback on current initiatives and priorities;
  • Insight into common municipal priorities for the next four years;
  • An understanding of barriers and challenges facing the Town;
  • Emerging issues, ideas and opportunities for the Town, and;
  • Opportunities to engage the community to achieve the Town’s vision.

Online surveys will be available by visiting www.forterie.ca and clicking on the most relevant survey or by visiting Town Hall or Fort Erie library branches to complete an online or paper survey. The deadline for completing surveys is March 8, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.
