Welland International Flatwater Centre launches new website

City of Welland press release – Considered by many athletes and officials to be one of the best flat-water venues in the world, the Welland International Flatwater Centre (WIFC) has enhanced its customer service levels with a brand new website that is easy to navigate and restructured with an attractive and simple interface.

In addition, the new and aesthetically pleasing website also includes facility updates, rental opportunities, an events calendar, a multi-media page, and also offers community information with volunteer opportunities.

The new website was organized, created, and will be managed in-house to give users the most timely and valuable information throughout the year.

City staff focused on creating a user-friendly website to assist sports organizations, athletes, audiences and vendors with keeping current on events and competition results. Website visitors can also access information on the WIFC’s Paddle Tank and download rental forms.

“Our residents, partners, and event hosts are going to appreciate the updated and modern look of the new site,” said Richard Dalton, Manager of Recreation and Culture. “It’s a critical channel for us to share information and updates for this important venue and the new site meets this need very well. Our team did a great job.”

The Welland International Flatwater Centre is a state-of-the-art venue that hosts regional, provincial, national, and international flat-water sports from May to November.

Competitions ranging from open water swims to Dragon Boats are brought to the WIFC because its infrastructure exceeds current international standards for hosting and accessibility requirements.
