“Next week’s meetings are a continuation of our active intergovernmental relations strategy focused on building and fostering relationships with decision-makers in Ottawa and at Queen’s Park and raising the City’s profile,” said Welland Mayor Frank Campion. “The City is very appreciative of recent federal funding we’ve received for water/wastewater upgrades and public transit and we look forward to partnering with the federal government as we move forward with bold and transformative City building initiatives for the future.”

“City staff have been reviewing the new federal-provincial infrastructure program to see how it supports the City’s future capital plans and we will be discussing current projects and conceptual ideas next week and seeking feedback and additional program information,” said Chief Administrative Officer Gary Long.

“Maintaining positive working relationships and dialogue with key contacts in federal departments and agencies is important as we continue to pursue strategic economic development initiatives in Welland and attract provincial, national, and international attention and business investment,” said Dan Degazio, the City’s Director of Economic Development.
