Whalers ahead two games in semis with Ravens

Niagara Whalers logoThe Niagara Whalers are now ahead two games to nothing in the best of seven semi-final series with the South Division first place team the St. George Ravens after GMHL playoff hockey this weekend.

Niagara took game one 8 – 6 Saturday March 10/2018 at the South Durnfries Community Centre in St. George, ON.

The Whalers started off leading 2 – 1 at the end of the first. The Whaler goals came from Zach Main and Jake Lloyd.

At the end of the second period, it was 5 – 4 for the Whalers. Niagara’s goals were scored by Brandon Lindberg for two and Zach Main with his second of the night.

In the third period, Nick Pastorious scored three goals for Niagara, St. George added two more goals, giving the Whalers the 8 – 6 win.

In action in St. George on Sunday Mar. 11/2018, the Whalers took game two 7 – 2.

The Whalers had a 3 – 1 lead coming out of the first period. Ethan Spaxman, Zach Main and Frolov Mikhail connected for the Whaler goals.

In the second period, the Whalers added three more goals to the Ravens one making it 6 – 2. Whaler goals were scored by Nick Pastorious, Brandon Lindberg and Zach Main for his second of the night.

Zach Main added a third goal to his night in the third period.

The Whalers will be facing the St. George Ravens for game three of the series Wednesday Mar. 14/2018 in Port Colborne at 7:40 p.m. Game four will be Friday Mar. 16/2018 at 7:30 p.m. at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre.
